I dunno if it is true as I have not played tombs but like 4 times, but as a FPS gamer as well, i know how important it is to want people who know the maps very well. maybe they mean that they figure a rank 3 looks as if your more experienced with the maps? for stratagy reasons? dunno, just my thought.

I typically find that groups that state you must be rank 3+ or whatever tend to be more egocentric about what they can accomplish "themselves" instead of working together as a "team." I typically find groups that accept anyone to usually be more team-oriented.

<---only rank 2

BTW "the longer you play the more knowledgeable you become" is false. Some people will always be bad players no matter how long they continue to play. Time doesn't equal guaranteed improvement in skill.

*Skips all but first post*

Hey, if you play to win, I'd say that Rank would matter to you!

If you play for fun, don't worry about it! Hey, I play games for fun... And i admire you at rank 2 (or whatever) since I only have 3 FAME!

It doesn't matter what other people think. If you think you did good, you did.

Well someone with no rank... are very likely to be noob rambo who thinks he's an invincible army of one... =_=

Now of course there's a catch 22. If you PUG to get rank, you NEED a group with rank. Sorry, it's in my experience that ppl with no rank are often times morons.

Yes you can be rank 9 or whatever and still be a moron, but chances are slim. And with enough experience you should be aware of the current trends and prepared to bring counters as necessary.

Rank doesn't mean anything other than how many good parties you've been in. And naturally, surrounding yourself in good parties makes you better as a player...TYPICALLY. Some of the best parties I've been in though have been made of people with 0 rank.

Rank basically says "we spend our hours in the tombs", it does not mean "we're awesome at the tombs and if you party with us you'll win".

Eh to hit home with you, I would have to use a source like half-life. It would basically be the same as calculating wins on a random server. Not kill/death ratio, but wins.

To be completely honest, I have 1 fame. Thats it. After going to the tombs only 2-3 times, I've acquired 1 fame. The time that I acquired that fame was with my old guild, when we still had to pick up a few random people to fill the roster. I generally try to avoid tombs, obviously by the total number of times I've been there, because of the lack of invites due to rank. I think I'm going to start going there and forming groups that have less than 3 fame.
